As a child, I was always happiest when I was drawing, creating, and making things with my hands. I also grew up watching my mom create beautiful handmade pieces through quilting, beadwork, and silk flower art. Creativity—and an appreciation for handmade things—was simply part of my life.

Not knowing what else I could imagine myself being passionate about, I followed my love of art and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art, with a focus on painting.

After college, though, I realized that while art would always have a special place in my heart, it wasn’t something I wanted to pursue as a career. Life took me in a very different direction, and for the next 20 years, I focused on building my career and eventually earned another degree in Finance and Accounting.

Then I discovered crochet.

It was an encounter like no other. I immediately fell in love with the beautiful textures I could create, the endless combinations of colors and geometric patterns, and the freedom of being able to create almost anywhere—a café, an airplane, a hotel room, or simply at home.

In many ways, crochet brought me back to the creativity that had always been a part of me.

Today, every one of my pieces is crocheted by hand. I love creating for dogs—bandanas, bibs, sweaters, costumes, and other playful little pieces. I also love creating for people, from sweaters and cardigans to beanies and accessories.

My latest passion is crocheting handbag charms—small, whimsical pieces you can casually add to a favorite bag to make it feel a little more personal, a little more original, and hopefully spark a little happiness every time you see it.

For me, crochet is more than making things. It’s a way to bring together everything I’ve always loved: art, color, texture, craftsmanship, and the simple joy of creating something by hand.
